2015 USA Disabled Hockey Festival, Wings Skate Past Sled Preds of Nashville

Day One, Game Two, 2015 USA Disabled Hockey Festival in Buffalo
Wings Skate Past Sled Preds of Nashville
by Mike Costantino

Isaiah Beck continued his torrid scoring streak adding two more goals as the Wings of Steel defeated the Nashville Sled Preds 4-1. The win caps a 2-0 day for our team and puts them in good position to advance to the finals. Hesham "E" Nassar and JoJo Costa scored the other goals for the Wings.

Beck opened the scoring in the first period going top shelf. Later in the period Mike ‘BuddhaMan’ Mauger broke down the left side and after his shot was saved, Nassar was there to put home the rebound and the lead was 2-0. Mauger appeared to give the Wings a 3-0 lead but had the goal wiped out on a crease violation.

JoJo would convert on a breakaway to make it 3-0 and Beck would add his second of the game for a 4-0 lead. The Sled Preds would score late in the second period to cut the lead to 4-1.

The third period was almost entirely played in the offensive zone for the Wings and they were able to run the clock, without adding anymore goals. Next up is a morning date with Buffalo. Tonight it’s off to the festival party.
